The Independent Living Centre WA (ILC) is a leading provider of  information, advice, assessment, training, funding and hire services that enable Western Australians of all ages and abilities to live more independent and fulfilling lives.

We are currently recruiting a Carer Liaison Officer within our Commonwealth Respite & Carelink Centre programs (CRCC). Managed by ILC, the CRCC delivers information and assistance to carers seeking access to short term or emergency respite care that supports them to continue caring for their family member or friend with disability, mental illness, aged care needs, or terminal illness requiring palliative care.

The Role:

You will join a small team that provides information; assessment of carer needs; coordination of short term or emergency respite care using a brokerage model of service; and where required referral to other appropriate supports. This role is primarily phone based with some networking and community engagement opportunities. It is likely the casual position will be needed through to April 2020.

The Candidate:

The successful applicant will be passionate, dynamic and innovative. Highly developed communication, problem solving, initiative and time management skills are essential to be successful in this role. Experience working with carers of a person with mental illness, disability and/or aged care needs will be highly regarded
