The CAEP AAC Consultancy and Refurbishment Program continues to provide options for the trial and purchase of communication devices, support for therapists during trials and a range of workshops. There is also a range of support resources developed through this program available on the ILC website. Information on the program and processes for retaining ILC hire devices are available by contacting any ILC Speech Pathologist or viewing our website: CAEP AAC Consultancy
Due to the different funding processes for NDIS trial sites (NDIA Hills and MyWay Cockburn/Kwinana, Lower South West) individuals in these regions are unable to trial and keep but are still able to hire communication devices through ILC, as well as access support and workshops. ILC is a registered NDIS provider and additional support from ILC Speech Pathologists could also be considered as part of their plan as a targeted and specialist service.
Don’t forget about the range of refurbished communication devices that are available for purchase or hire via the CAEP Refurbishment program run by ILC Tech. You can access a list of available devices from our website, as well as detailed instructions on the process to return a CAEP funded device for refurbishment. Did you know these refurbished devices are available for long term hire at significantly reduced rates? This can be a great option for someone who may require a longer trial, or is waiting for funding, or for an individual who may require a replacement device while theirs is being repaired. Check out our recent blog post which discusses some of the benefits of recycling older but still useable assistive technology.
