We’ll then recommend and prescribe aids, equipment, technology or home modifications including seating, wheelchairs, scooters, personal alarms, rails and ramps.

Independent at Home

These include those undertaking rehabilitation after an injury or illness, people with disabilities and individuals seeking to maintain their independence for as long as possible.

Some of these services include an assessment of your needs and current home, researching possible equipment and modification options, sourcing contractors, liaising with builders and tradespeople and supporting you to successfully manage your home modifications through to their completion.

Technology Prescription and Training – For Home, Work or School

This package includes assessment for technology, trial, recommendations and reporting (if required). We will take care of the process to apply for funding too and link you in with eligible funding sources.

Once your technology arrives, our in home occupational therapy team we will support you to set it up, program it for your personal preferences and provide training to you and your support people to ensure the technology is used to its full potential. We can even help with troubleshooting and updating your technology down the track. Examples include setting up your tablet or smartphone and recommending suitable apps; designing your work station with an accessible keyboard, mouse and software; providing software to assist you to read or write; training education staff to support you to use your technology; mounting eye gaze computer access; or recommending eBook readers to make turning pages easier so you can continue to read your favourite books.

Occupational Therapy Driver Assessment

The assessments, which are conducted by a registered driver trained occupational therapist in a supportive environment, aim to ensure that you are safe and able to drive. Rehabilitation lessons, where appropriate, are supervised by the assessing therapist and implemented by a rehabilitation specialised driving instructor.

Assessments may be conducted for fitness to drive, first time drivers, experienced drivers with acquired medical conditions or disabilities, work related driving and commercial vehicle drivers. This package includes an initial assessment, on road assessment, follow up report with recommendations and referral for lessons if suitable.
