Equipment for Living Grants to continue

The Independent Living Centre WA (ILC) is pleased to announce that the Equipment for Living (EFL) grants will continue to be available throughout the 2018 – 2019 financial year.

In addition, the ILC has received additional funding for the remainder of this financial year – up to the end of June 2018. This will allow the EFL grant program to now accept applications for recreational equipment. We would like to thank the Community Living and Participation Grant for their support over the past few months.

Administered by the ILC, EFL grants are available to assist eligible people to obtain vital equipment not currently available through the Community Aids and Equipment Program or other support programs.

The grants provide essential items that enable individuals with disabilities to have increased participation within their homes and communities.

Last financial year, grants totalling over $1.6 million were provided to assist over 710 people with disabilities to purchase vital equipment. This included electrically adjustable beds, mobility aids such as wheelchairs and scooters, personal hygiene equipment, specialised car seats, environmental controls and specialised recreation equipment.

The maximum individual grant is $6,000.

Funding for EFL grants is made available by the State Government through the Department of Communities Disability Services.
