The Noah’s Ark Toy Library and Resource Centre, located in Morley, received a Lotterywest cheque for $99,435 earlier this month.
Presented by Mr Ian Britza MLA, Member for Morley, to Gerri Clay, Independent Living Centre WA (ILC) Executive Director, the grant will assist with funding a much needed Information and Communication Technology upgrade.
“The funds will be used to create an online borrowing system so toy library members, including those in country areas, will to be able to view, book and order toys and resources online. Currently members have to phone in to make their requests so having an online borrowing system will be a huge improvement,” said Ms Clay.
“The grant will also enable other essential system upgrades to be undertaken. We are very grateful to Lotterywest for these much needed funds.”
In attendance at the cheque handover event, amongst other ILC and Noah’s Ark staff members, was Daisy, who showed Mr Britza how the puppy dog toy worked.
Noah’s Ark WA provides specialised toys, resources and support to assist children with disabilities and additional needs to meet their full potential. It became a program of the ILC in July 2013.
