Have you heard of the Variety Mouth Camp? Some of our staff are thrilled to be volunteering at this exciting event this week. The Variety Motor Mouth Camp is a five day camp for children with complex communication needs who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices.
It will be held at Point Walter from 9th – 13th October. You may be aware of the services provided by our ILC Tech team, in supporting people with complex communication needs, their families, educators and health professionals to stay up to date in terms of technologies and best practice in the AAC area. The Variety Motor Mouth Camp allows our team to extend this support, and work with children and their families to maximise communication in the ‘super-fun’ camp setting.
This year the children at camp will be using a range of communication aids such as PODD, Proloquo2Go on iPad, Dynavox V Max, Nova Chat and Vantage Lite. We will be sure to post some photos throughout camp! If you would like any information about the camp, please feel free to contact Kelly on firstname.lastname@example.org or leave a comment here.
