Project Coordinator – Health Promotion (Disability Equipment & Technology)
Full time/ Part Time – 18 Months Fixed Term Contract

The Independent Living Centre WA (ILC) provides information and advice, assessment, funding and hire services that enable Western Australians of all ages and abilities to live more independent and fulfilling lives.

We are currently seeking to recruit a motivated project coordinator with excellent communication, health promotion, marketing, resource development and public speaking skills to support the delivery of an exciting new project, to build knowledge and capacity in the WA disability sector about aids, equipment and technology that is available to increase independence of people with disabilities. Project coordination, promotion and planning are key skills for this position, along with knowledge of the disability sector and experience delivering training and information sessions to community groups.

The project officer will research, develop and implement a range of initiatives and ideas to build capacity for individuals and the broader community to understand how assistive equipment and technology can impact the lives of people living with a disability. The project will involve supporting people with disabilities who are assistive technology users to develop and deliver participant-led capacity building initiatives that will increase choice and control in the area of assistive technology for WA people with disabilities. This project will link closely with the principles of the NDIS Assistive Technology Strategy.

This position would be well suited to a person with project management, health promotion, training and marketing skills. It may also be suited to an allied health professional with a passion for assistive technology and previous project management experience. Part time applications may be considered.
