The ILC in 2015

ILC Executive Director Gerri ClayHappy New Year! I hope that you all had an enjoyable Christmas break and are feeling refreshed and enthusiastic about the year ahead.

I am looking forward to what 2015 may bring and to continuing on the journey that the ILC has mapped out to ensure that our services continue to align with changing consumer needs and the new disability, aged and community care service models.

The year ahead will see our staff continue to upskill in areas they have identified as important to be able to better support consumer’s independence and wellbeing, such as home modifications and smart home technology.

Service models that will enable the ILC to take people further on their path to getting the most appropriate assistive technology and equipment will continue to be trialed and developed.

Improving access to our services, through Skype, appointment free ‘Drop By’ times and hosting events and initiatives around metropolitan Perth as well as regional Western Australia will continue.

Truly understanding consumer’s needs, providing better avenues for feedback and, above all, aiming to continually improve our services will be a focus for 2015.

I look forward to sharing this journey with my colleagues, our consumers, funders, suppliers and other service providers.
