Dementia Education and Training for Carers

The Respite and Carelink Centre aims to improve the quality of life of people living with dementia by supporting their carers.  One way we achieve this is through running Dementia Education and Training sessions for our carers.  We hold regular sessions at various locations to enhance carer skills and connecting our carers to key information about dementia.

The below are examples of topics discussed:

  • Coping with Memory Loss
  • Legal Issues
  • Communication
  • Dealing with Medications
  • Navigating Aged Care
  • Managing Carer Stress
  • Respite Planning
  • Sleep Issues
  • Assisting with Personal Care
  • Cooking for one or two
  • First Aid Course

Respite care can be provided during session times, including in home support for the person being cared for to allow our carers to attend.  So give us a call us on 1800 052 222 to find out more information about our Dementia Education and Training sessions or if you have any other questions.
