Is your drivers licence up to date?

Image of a drivers licienceAre you aware that conditions required for you to drive safely are listed on the back of your licence, and on the Department of Transports computer system?

These conditions may be:

  • To wear prescribed visual aids
  • To take prescribed medications
  • Medical restriction to drive in a daylight hours only
  • To drive with specified drivers aids (modifications)

Your licence should reflect the mode in which you drive and if involved in an incident/ infringement/accident, this information may be questioned.

Mandatory Reporting of medical conditions was introduced in WA in 2008. This places the responsibility on the individual driver to ensure the Department of Transport is aware of medical conditions and any specific conditions required to ensure you are safe to operate in the driving environment.

Make sure your licence information is up to date! More information on Department of Transport website: http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/licensing/20395.asp
